Ups and downs!

The last couple of weeks I’ve been super busy. And my mood is going up and down like crazy. One day I feel like taking on the world and have the energy of ten horses :) and the next I feel like giving it all up and go home to Finland :( It’s so weird, because when I’m in a low period, it feels like being a robot, hehe. I have no energy, and making dinner and doing assignments is left undone. I just want to sleep. It feels like the work will never end…

And then all of a sudden, it could just be a good song, a great take in the studio or a successful practice with a band, everything turns around and I’ll be singing along with my iPod on my way home. It happened today and I feels great now :D So the next time I hit a low I’ll try to not take it so serious, and just not care about it so much :S It’s easy to say now, but maybe it’ll work, who knows :)

At the moment I’m in the middle of a production project with my man Craig Lees. He’s a great singer on my course in college. The style he is doing is kind of funky country, very much Keith Urban and Jason Mraz. So far we have done drums and bass for three tracks, almost. Tomorrow we’ll probably get the keys recorded and maybe the last bass track.

Then I’ve met up with my old flatmate James from last year, to do a bit of co producing/songwriting. It’s a lot of fun :) working on a jazzy hip-hop track at the moment. He is one of the most positive and enthusiastic guys I know :)

Another thing I’m really excited about is the girl band! Hehehe, yess, I’m gonna be in a girl band, hopefully! I don’t know much about it yet, but apparently a few female singers from my course are starting a group, and needed a band to back them! I can’t imagine a more fun band to play with :D Well we’ll see when it get’s going.

Good Day!

I’ll soon put up more links on the Links page. But my days are really packed at the moment and I got a cold yesterday. So I’m just trying to cope with the most important stuff, like: college, recordings, the blog and maybe some food now and then :-P

Good Day!

Blog premiere :-)

Hi, this is my brand new blog! You can check what it’s all about on the about page. So, “Heeeeere we go” (Slick Rick – Children’s Story):

Next week I’m starting on a new project, gonna record a friend’s band at college. Not completely clear on what style it’ll be in yet, or how many songs, but I’ll meet up with the guy in the beginning of next week to plan it. I’ll tell u more about that later.

Tomorrow second year of college kicks off, wheeyy! Been waiting for that a while now. The modules I have in this semester are:

Two ensembles, drum lessons, music industry (the one I’m the most excited about), music & cultural studies, pop composition and sequencing, sampling and synthesis.

Gonna be quite a lot going on with college, two bands (maybe more), productions and trying to do 4 days at the gym per week, so we’ll see how much time for blogging I’ll have :-/

At the moment it feels like I want to try as many things as possible to figure out what to do. A couple of years ago I really thought I wanted to work as a drummer my whole life. But now I’m quite sure that’s not the only thing I’ll be doing. I don’t know if it’s to monotonous for me or if I’m just to lazy to get good enough. I guess I’m looking for something more… It’s the long hours all alone in the practice room that puts me off! Probably same for everyone, but all I’m saying is I’m not gonna be a Steve Smith anyway!

Btw, this is just hilarious!!!

Good Day!
